TPIE 2018

This week was TPIE (Tropical Plant Industry Expo) put on by FNGLA (Florida Nurseries, Growers and Landscape Association). We have been lucky enough to have owners who invest in their employees and realize the importance of continual learning. This not only is a benefit to our employees, but also to our clients. We are always striving to find new products to try, and to offer our clients. This year’s show was very much enjoyed by our first-time attendees, Nicki, David, Donna and Karla.

They were lucky enough to spend all day on Tuesday touring with our plant broker, who is the absolute best at her job! They were able to see the plants we use every-day, in the fields and greenhouses first hand, in different stages of growth. They were able to ask questions of the growers, take photos of new varieties and enjoy a little Florida sunshine as well. Wednesday was spent on the convention center floor where there was plenty of eye candy to satisfy any horticulturist. Bromeliads, succulents and tillandsia’s were among the most photographed items.

Nicki and David also attended the Green Plants for Green Buildings seminar to become registered trainers and offer CEU presentations on “The Economics of Biophilia”. There was also a little beach time worked into the schedule! All in all a successful trip to rejuvenate and energize our staff!
